Site work for a water / sewer project in Knoxville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The bid date has extended. An addendum will be issued this week to address the change. The Project consists of the following major elements: 1. Interceptor improvements consist of the installation of: a. Approximately 10,817 feet of 48-inch gravity sewer in new trench; b. Approximately 348 feet of 48-inch installed in place of an existing 36-inch concrete gravity sewer; c. 172 feet of 18-inch PVC gravity sewer; d. 530 feet of 12-inch DIP gravity sewer; e. 299 feet of 8-inch DIP gravity sewer; f. 542 feet of 12-inch PVC gravity sewer; g. 498 feet of 8-inch PVC gravity sewer, as well as h. Service lines and connections; i. Precast concrete manholes; j. Class C spray lining of manholes; k. Approximately 690 feet of creek crossings; l. 50 feet of 24-inch road bore, and miscellaneous appurtenances. 2. Sanitary sewer rehabilitation improvements including cured-in-place rehabilitation of: a. Approximately 4,327 feet of 8-inch diameter sewer pipe; b. Approximately 1,395 feet of 10-inch diameter sewer pipe; c. Approximately 340 vertical feet of manholes utilizing Class B or greater spray lining; d. 5 inflow dishes; e. 2 new manholes installed on existing lines; f. Approximately 6 point repairs, ranging in size from 6-inch to 8-inch diameter pipe; g. Approximately 505 feet of 8-inch to 10-inch pipe bursting; h. Approximately 985 feet of 15-inch to 18-inch pipe bursting. 3. Work will also include re-installation of service taps and all associated appurtenances. Allotted time for project completion is 900 calendar days. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The work will be awarded in one contract. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, prepared on the Bid Bond form attached to the Contract Documents or a Surety Company's Standard Bid Bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Tennessee and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid. Davis-Bacon Act and American Iron and Steel Requirements: This project is being funded by a State Revolving Fund loan on or after 2016 EPA Fiscal Year. The loan recipient must be in compliance with all applicable Davis-Bacon Act and American Iron and Steel requirements. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) Requirements: Any contract or contracts awarded by the Owner through this Invitation for Bids will be funded by a State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan from the State of Tennessee. State and Federal funds will be involved in this Project and, as a result, Bidders must comply with the SRF Loan Program's Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) requirements, including contacting a minimum of 10 qualified DBE potential subcontractors, professional service providers, vendors, and/or suppliers by certified mail to solicit Bids. The apparent successful Bidder must submit to the Owner copies of the certified letters and return receipts prior to contract award. Neither the State of Tennessee nor any of its departments, agencies or employees is or will be a party to this Invitation for Bids or any resulting contract(s) awarded by the Owner. Special Notice to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) Firms: All qualified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) firms desiring to bid as a General Contractor, subcontractor, professional service provider, supplier or equipment vendor are encouraged to contact Ms. Marilyn Robinson at the Nashville Minority Business Center office listed above to review bidding/contract documents. Qualified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) firms may also contact Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., 9721 Cogdill Road, Suite 201, Knoxville, Tennessee 37932 in order to obtain a list of prospective bidding General Contractors or to obtain copies of bidding/contract documents. Compliance with Davis-Bacon wage rate provisions is a requirement of this Project. The Owner will in no way be liable for any costs incurred by any bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Invitation to Bid. The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of the Bid. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 calendar days after the scheduled time for receipts of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.
