Edifice is the Construction Manager for the CMS New ES Hidden Valley, JW Grier, Newell Relief project. This new school will be approximately 102,000 ft. and constructed with multiple volume spaces. Both single story and two-story buildings will be used for the structure. The owner is Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The designer is ADW Architects. The site is located at 7515 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC. FORMAL BID PACKAGES (prequalification due 01/05/22): Concrete, Masonry, Millwork, Waterproofing and Sealants, Metal Panels, Doors/Frames/Hardware, Glass & Glazing, Drywall, Tile, Acoustical Ceilings, Flooring, Painting, Specialties, Canopies, Food Service Equipment, Elevator, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Sitework, and Landscaping. INFORMAL BID PACKAGES (prequalification not required): Final Cleaning, Surveying and Layout, Spray Applied Fireproofing, Overhead Doors, Signage, Operable Partitions, Theatrical Equipment, Window Treatment, Test & Balance, and Fencing All questions and/or clarifications should be addressed to the Construction Manager, who will then correspond with the Design team, as required, for answers and clarifications. Only pre-qualified bidders may obtain complete sets of plans, specifications, and bid manual. Other interested second and third tier subcontractors and suppliers must submit quotes to the pre-qualified trade contractors. All Pre-qualified bidders are required to seek Women, Minority, Small Business Enterprise (WMSBE) participation. The minimum goal for this project is 21% participation (10% MBE, 6% WBE, 5% SBE). This project has an Employment Opportunities and Workforce Development Plan as defined in the bid manual, see section VI. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after receipt of bid. The CM and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all irregularities or informalities in any bid as allowed by applicable law and to award any contract to other than low bidder should it be deemed in their best interest.
