Renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in North York, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 4,237-square-foot, one-story above grade day care center; and for the renovation of a 40,000-square-foot day care center.
Construction of a childcare addition to accommodate: Infant program for 10 children; Toddler program for 15 children; Preschool program for 24 children; All support spaces required to meet current Child Care and Early Years Act; and expansion and alteration of hard surface for play space and maintenance access for outdoor play area. The facility will have dedicated entrance with security buzzer/video camera; have internal access to school; Have convenient access to childcare outdoor play area; be air conditioned. The scope will include upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems in the existing 2,636 square meter school building to suit addition and renovation requirements. TIMELINE: Working drawings were completed in 2021 and forwarded to the owner. Tender for general contractor and construction schedules will are undetermined pending provincial funding and population growth.
