Saving Project...

Demolition, site work and new construction of a library in Mound, Minnesota. Design plans call for the demolition of a 8,600-square-foot library; for the construction of a 8,600-square-foot library; and for site work for a library.

This project will replace the current Westonka Library with a new 10,000 gross square foot (GSF) library and associated parking on the existing 1.68 acre site located at 2079 Commerce Boulevard in Mound, MN. While the current library is proposed to be demolished and reconstructed, some elements, including part of the existing parking lot and the landscaping between the two existing parking areas, are planned to be retained. Project is in Hennepin County Purchasing and Contract Services capital budget Fy 2024-2028. As of August 26, 2024, an architect has been identified. Construction expected to begin late 2024 with completion in mid-2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
