Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and fitness / recreation center.
The Proposed Park System Plan will confirm the need to construct a community fieldhouse/gymnasium with two full-size basketball courts that could also be multi-use smaller courts for volleyball, badminton, pickleball and other court sports as a high priority. There is limited access to gyms within Brooklyn Park, especially after school and weekday evenings due to school activities. 2023: Design/Development ($350,000) 2024: Construction ($3,6500,000) As of May 9, 2025, per owner, there is no update on this project. The project is still awaiting funding. A design consultant has not been selected. No work is anticipated over the next 6-9 months. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
