Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

For the improvement of certain section of highways and bridges in LUZERNE COUNTY, SLOCUM TOWNSHIP, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, STATE ROUTE 3007, SECTION D50. The proposed project involves the replacement of the existing structure carrying S.R. 3007 (Blue Ridge Trail) Section D50 over Little Wapwallopen Creek in Slocum Township, Luzerne County. As currently proposed the replacement efforts for this project will consist of online replacement of the existing bridge structure. The horizontal geometry will match the existing horizontal geometry while the vertical geometry will closely match the existing profile of the roadway. The existing structure consists of a reinforced concrete box culvert with concrete wingwalls beneath fill and a bituminous overlay, which will be replace with a 12' 0" x 9' 6" cast-in-place concrete box culvert with cast-in-place concrete wingwalls. The approach roadway work includes roadway widths to taper back from being full-width at the culvert locations to the existing widths at the project tie-ins. Guiderail updates will include replacement of the guiderails throughout the entire length of the project and new signage will be installed. To restore the toe slope of the roadway and to minimize wetland impacts the slopes of the roadway will be rock lined at approximately the same location. Maintenance and protection of traffic during project construction is to consist of a planned detour. All work contained within an overall length of 605 linear feet (0.115 miles) as indicated on the approved drawings included in the bid package.
