The purpose of the project is to provide safety improvements along SR 0739 to facilitate an anticipated increase in truck traffic from the construction of the PennDOT Maintenance Facility on Pike County Boulevard. Proposed safety improvements consist of widening existing shoulders along SR 0739 to four and one-half feet, constructing Safety Edge treatments along the widened shoulders, installing milled edge line rumble strips, and improving the existing drainage system. Other work includes excavation, full depth bituminous paving, landscaping, E & S Control measures, temporary traffic control, signing, pavement markings and other miscellaneous construction for a total length of 9,779.46 Feet (1.852 Miles).
