Site work and new construction of a transportation facility in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Conceptual plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for the construction of a transportation facility.
Planning, archaeological and environmental studies, design, construction, furnishing and equipping of two additional sidings along the New Mexico Rail Runner Express corridor. Project will increase track capacity for and improve speed and on-time performance of New Mexico Rail Runner Express, Amtrak and BNSF trains. The project will be completed in up to two phases using existing maintenance of way contracts, through a designbuild process, or through a traditional RFP design/RFB construction process. As of January 27, 2022, this project is currently in the New Mexico Infrastructure FY 2023-2027 CIP. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to fiscal year 2023 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
