Inquiries should be directed to the contact(s) listed. *The following has been preserved for historical reference: The City of Charleston is requesting qualifications for design teams to include architectural, structural, civil, M/P/E engineering, and cost estimating services for the retrofit of a single company historic fire station at 370 Huger Street in the Upper Old City District of Charleston, SC. The intent of the project is to retrofit the existing facility to a Category IV level of design, and is to include seismic upgrades to interior framing; reinforcing of the existing historic masonry structure; the strengthening of windows and doors to include impact resistant materials; dry flood-proofing; installation of a backup generator; roof repairs and strengthening; Code and accessibility accommodation; Minor site design; and preservation of the historic materials, character, and fabric of the facility to SHPO standards. The project is divided into two phases: Design and Construction, with this solicitation for the first phase only. All work must be designed and executed in compliance with the U.S. Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and in compliance of all applicable Federal, State and Local codes. Access to the facility prior to submission will be appointment only, and should be coordinated through the Project Manager. Projected Renovation Construction Cost Range: $3,000,000 to $3,500,000 Project will include documentation of existing conditions (site and building), complete architectural design, programming meetings, detailed cost estimating, and full construction documents suitable for bidding and permit. This Contract shall end prior to construction, which shall be a future Phase II; bidding & negotiating, construction administration, and final close out should not be included for this scope of services. Resumes: 1. Executive summary: a. Cover letter (1 page maximum). b. Selection criteria summaries (1 page maximum for each - see below for list). 2. Federal Standard Form 330 is to be submitted. For consultants to be used, they must be included in a single Form 330 for the proposed team. 3. Other unspecified supporting documentation as deemed necessary by the Applicant. Selection Criteria: A Selection Committee will evaluate the information submitted and will select up to three finalists for interviews. The following criteria will be used to evaluate each firm: A. Related experience on similar projects B. Past performance C. Demonstrated ability to meet time and budget D. Ability of professional personnel E. Creativity and insight related to project F. Location of firm We follow SC Office of State Engineer fee guidelines The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
