The City requires replacement of select areas of process piping in the lower filter gallery, replacement of the raw water inlet isolation sluice gate, and replacement of the travelling raw water screen at the Owen Sound Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This Project is driven by testing indicating that the existing infrastructure is aging and requires replacement. There are many health and safety concerns with operating aging equipment. To maintain WTP operations for the duration of the project, the replacements must be staged to minimize the project's timeline while also minimizing risk for the City. A. The proposed work primarily involves linear process mechanical replacements, including the replacement of the existing incoming raw water travelling screen, replacement of the incoming 36 inch (914 millimetre [mm]) sluice gate, and replacement of various sections of large diameter pipe within the lower pipe gallery. B. The Works includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Replacement of incoming 36 inch (914 mm) raw water sluice gate 2. Replacement of incoming raw water travelling screen, addition of a vendor supplied control panel and associated wiring. 3. SCADA Programming for the addition of status and fault for the new travelling screen. 4. Replacement of select areas of pipe in the lower level pipe gallery.
