Site work and paving for a civil project in New Britain, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Public Works Department is charged with administering the City’s traffic control signals. Funding for this specific project will go towards intersection improvements and Traffic Signal replacement at the Ellis Street and Stanley Street intersection. This is a high crash intersection and does not function well with the high truck volume from Guida’s and the traffic signal was originally installed in the early 1970’s and is far beyond its design life, requires many service calls and is showing signs of fatigue. As of November 30, 2023, this project is included in the City of New Britain's Fiscal Year 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding for construction is allotted for FY 2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
