STIP ID 509704W39 WSDOT has identified this intersection with a history of serious intersection-related collisions. This project will construct a roundabout to replace the existing traffic signal, and improve connections to local roads. These improvements will reduce the potential for serious collisions. As of March 09, 2023, this project is in Design status. Preliminary engineering has begun and environmental design is expected to be complete in the third quarter of 2025. The contract advertisement is expected in fourth quarter of 2027 and construction is anticipated to be operationally complete in the fourth quarter of 2028. WSDOT - US 97/West Wapato Rd/West First St. - Intersection Improvements *Project information has been obtained through a public state transportation improvement plan (STIP).
