Plans consist of the widening of 2 lanes to 4 lanes with a center median and two-way left turnlane with earthwork, retaining wall, grading, and drainage structures. Estimated Amount: $12,397,175.00 It is the intent of the plans and specifications to describe a completed work to be performed under the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor must furnish all materials, supplies, tools, equipment, supervision, and labor necessary for the proper prosecution and completion of the work. The Engineer has the right to make changes and alterations in the plans as may be considered necessary or desirable. Such changes and alterations will not be considered as a waiver of any condition of the contract, nor will they invalidate any of the provisions thereof. The Contractor must perform the work as changed or altered. Necessary work resulting in a substantial change in the character of the work will be, upon demand of either party to the contract, considered as "Extra Work." Changes made for the convenience of the Contractor will not be considered "Extra Work." Work made necessary by changes and alterations of the plans or for other reasons for which no prices are provided in the contract will be defined as "Extra Work" and must be performed by the Contractor in accordance with appropriate specifications and as directed by the Engineer; however, the Contractor must not begin any extra work until the County executes a Change Order, Change Directive, Field Order or Force Account Agreement.
