Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Mississauga, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 84,000-square-foot clubhouse / community center; 16,000-square-foot library; for site work for a clubhouse / community center; and library.
The City of Mississauga (the City) is seeking detailed proposals from construction firms to provide complete Construction Management services for the Construction Management Services for the Reconstruction of South Commons Community Center and Library located at 2233 South Millway, Mississauga ON, L5L 3H7. The anticipated Gross Floor Area (GFA) for the project is 90,000-100,000 sq ft. The new Community Centre and Library building will accommodate a new Aquatic Centre, Equipment-based Fitness Centre, Gym, Library, Parks Administration Office, Electrical and Mechanical service rooms, and associated common and circulation space. The scope also includes a full redevelopment of the site including a consolidated parking lot, outdoor park amenities and an outdoor Park Operations compound. The City is currently in the process of hiring a Prime Consultant to further develop the concept plans and provide full architectural design and contract administration services. The City is scheduled to retain the Prime Consultant by mid-May 2022. The services for the pre-construction phase are anticipated to commence on June 24, 2022 or sooner, subject to issuance of a purchase order. The services for construction phase are anticipated to start on April 1, 2024 with a substantial completion on July 31, 2026, and post-construction services for 1-year warranty period which ends on July 31, 2027.
