Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Lewiston, Maine. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility.

Only sealed bids will be accepted. Faxed or electronic bids will not be considered. Furnish and install equipment, accessories and wiring required for a complete and functioning system. Materials and equipment shall be standard components, regularly manufactured for this and/or other systems and not custom designed especially for this project. Components shall have been thoroughly tested and proven in actual use. B. Wiring: The snowmelt system shall be installed by licensed electricians and mechanics, who are trained for this work. Wiring shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of Division 26. C. Outside Air Sensing Elements: Provide element with sun shade to minimize solar effects. Mount sun shade at least 3 inches from building outside wall. Sun shade shall not inhibit the flow of ambient air across the sensing element. Shade shall also protect sensing element from snow, ice and rain. D. Supply Water Sensor: Brass thermowell and sensor wired into controller. E. Telestat: 24VAC motorized actuator to open loop control valves. F. Snow Melt Controllers: 1. Mixing Valve Controller: Shall be electric/electronic type capable of providing the following control modes: - Two position (on-Off, Slow-Fast, Start-Stop) - Proportional (P) - Proportional plus integral (PI) - Proportional, integral, plus derivative (PID) 2. Each controller shall be capable of full operation either as a completely independent unit or as a part of the building-wide control system. Controllers shall contain the necessary equipment for direct interface to the sensors and actuators connected to it. It shall be possible to define control strategies at each control unit. Each control unit shall include its own micro-computer controller, power supply, input/output modules. 3. Sensors/Input Signals: Each control unit shall be capable of direct interface to a variety of industry standard thermistors, dry contacts, pulse accumulators, sensors and input devices such as 4-20 mA, 0-10 vDC. 4. Actuators/Output Signals: The control unit shall directly control electronic actuators through a 4-20 mA or 0-16V signal. 5. Snow/Ice Sensor: Provide Tekmar 090 slab sensor with 091 sensor socket for detecting snow and ice. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
