Saving Project...

Renovation of a medical facility in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 505,000-square-foot, five-story above grade medical facility.

As of May 26, 2020, this project started construction February 2020 and is now underway. As of December 2019, this project was awarded to Bernards on September 3, 2019. Per the owner, the estimated date of construction is set to begin the end of 2019 to early 2020. Substantial completion of phase 1 of project is by November 2020. The project consists of the adaptive re-purpose of the approximately 505,000 square-foot former King-Drew Hospital building to serve as a new Behavioral Health Center. The MLK Behavioral Health Center will provide high-quality health and wellness services to the community. The program for the project includes services such as administrative spaces, kitchen, urgent care center, primary care clinic, substance use disorder clinical and residential, and various mental health clinical and residential services. Public Works invites all interested proposers to attend an Industry Day for a discussion related to scope details, project delivery methods and the solicitation process for this project. The Industry Day will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Department of Public Works, 900 South Fremont Ave, The Alhambra Room, Alhambra, CA 91803. *This project has been updated for historical data and reference purposes.
