Site work, renovation and addition to a museum in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a museum; for the renovation of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
Restoration and expansion of the City of Saskatoon's Civic Conservatory. Current options under consideration include: Option 3 Restoration Plus - scope of work would consist of renovation/restoration of the existing Conservatory with expansion to include a new enclosed glazed walkway/ramp external to the current facility to address accessibility, maintain the approx. programmable space and services level. Restoration work to include roof repair/replacement; replacement of glazing; heating and cooling system upgrades; restoration of the walled Japanese garden; replacement of the east heritage brick wall; and accessibility upgrades (cost estimated at $6 million). Option 2 (to be pursued in the future) - scope of work would consist of construction of a building expansion with a new roofline, in addition to the restoration of the existing building (estimated cost of $14.6). TIMELINE: A conceptual design report has been completed by AOBDT and Dialog. The Owner is exploring potential partnership and funding opportunities. A Request for Proposals from consultants for structural assessment and testing is currently underway. The goal is to establish a facility preservation plan to maintain the building until a long-term strategy is established. Further update may be available fall/winter 2024. *Budget is unreleased.
