Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility; and playground / park / athletic field.
As of April 2, 2020, construction is underway and commenced second quarter 2019 and is expected to be complete second quarter 2022.* Plans call for redeveloping Omaha's riverfront and Gene Leahy Mall. The project will create a 90-acre park along the Gene Leahy Mall and river, from the marina near the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge south to The Breakers apartment complex at Leavenworth Street. The city's philanthropic community has verbally dedicated more than $150 million and the city plans to issue $50 million in lease-purchase bonds for the project. Construction will depend on permitting and approvals but could begin in 2020 with estimated completion in 2022.
