This project also involves exposing existing direct buried fiber optic cable to provide slack for fiber splicing and restoring the sites as directed by the Iowa DOT. Existing fiber must also be removed from existing conduits and disposed of by the successful bidder once cut over to the new fiber is successfully completed. Two handholes must also be removed. It should be noted that most of the fiber splicing must be completed in two phases separated by at least one month. The Iowa DOT reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Responses and to waive irregularities or technicalities, provided such waiver does not substantially change the offer or provide a competitive advantage to any supplier(s).
