Site work for a mixed-use development in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field and road / highway.
Construction of a slab-park that will span the highway and cross the 30-meter vertical descent of the cliff to provide a passage for pedestrians and cyclists in the area of a newly constructed Turcot Interchange. The project realization will allow to create a new nature park in the ecoterritory of the cliff Saint-Jacques, various natural ecosystems integrating woodlands, wetlands and grassland areas and a network of trails for pedestrians, runners, cyclists and skiers. According to the initial plans, the Turcot slab-park would link the boroughs of Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and Sud-Ouest. The preliminary estimates of the project have shown that its value may be increased up to $30-40M. TIMELINE: More accurate estimation of the project cost has revealed that its value may considerably exceed the planned budget and the project has been put on hold for an undetermined period. According to the owner's opinion the project may be constructed by phases during a ten-year period. The project will be followed if/when it proceeds to a design stage. Coverage of this report has been discontinued.
