The City of Seattle Office of the Waterfront and Civic Projects is requesting industry comments on its upcoming Overlook Walk Project, located in the City of Seattle, Washington. The City anticipates utilizing the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GCCM) delivery method and received Project Review Committee Approval on May 24, 2018. The City is providing prospective Proposers interested in the project an opportunity to review the draft requirements and provide feedback. At this time, the City is only requesting comments and will not provide responses. Comments may be submitted through July 18, including at an Information Forum scheduled for July 12, 2018. Overlook Walk is a public pathway connecting Seattle's Waterfront to Pike Place Market and Seattle's urban core. The future public walkway enhances the existing web of connections through and near the Market down to the waterfront near the Seattle Aquarium at Pier 59. It is designed for all ages and abilities, with gradual slopes, new elevators and places to linger along the walk. The path provides elevated views of Elliott Bay and the city skyline, a safe and accessible connection, and new public spaces to relax and enjoy. The project combines vertical building construction components including enclosed spaces on both sides of Alaskan Way at multiple elevations, with major transportation elements including a pedestrian bridge, stairways, walkways, earthwork and utilities. The forum will provide information relevant to prospective prime proposers/bidders. Future events will be scheduled to connect interested primes to WMBE subcontractors. PROJECT LOCATION: The project site is located at the intersection of Alaskan Way and Pine Street in Seattle, Washington. It abuts the Pike Place Market's new MarketFront expansion and existing parking garage, spans ovethe future rebuilt Alaskan Way surface road, and connects the Aquarium's future Ocean Pavilion building and the pedestrian promenade along the waterfront piers.
