Renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and playground / park / athletic field.
As of March 27 the project is not yet awarded Performance and Payment Bond: 100% of the Contract Award. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid is required. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid is required. Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Architect of Record. The pre-qualified General Contractors are invited to bid on the project/projects referenced below. Bids must be submitted on the forms (Bid Solicitation Package) issued as part of the Bidding Documents. Bidders are required to be pre-qualified with the Chicago Public Schools for this project. The form of agreement for the work will be the General Contracting Services Agreement. This contract is subject to all of the terms and conditions of the General Contracting Services Agreement between the Board and General Contractor dated as of January 1, 2015. One original and four (4) copies of the bid solicitation are to be submitted. Original signature sets to be sworn to before a notary public. All bids will be read publicly in the bid and bond room on the garden level, 42 west madison street, chicago, il 60602. A copy of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of the Architect of Record for each project after 2:00 p.m., August 8, 2018. One (1) set of Bidding Documents will be in electronic format, provided to each Bidding Contractor by the Architect of Record. If printed copies are required by the Bidding Contractor, prints shall be made, at the Contractor's expense, from the electronic format provided by the Architect of Record. Printed copies/sets of the Bidding Documents will not be provided by the Architect of Record to any Bidding Contractor. Provide Labor and Materials to: 1. Repair existing masonry and roofing elements per diagram in Attachment 1 (and any additional areas identified during the Mandatory Pre Bid Walk Thru). a. Remove damaged terra cotta coping at high roof. Provide new sheet metal coping with sealant at skyward facing joints at area of removed coping. b. Areas of displaced or through-brick cracked masonry at the façade, chimney and parapets should be demolished two wythes. Rebuild with new brick to match existing with stainless steel ties to back up structure. Remaining areas of step-cracking and open joints should be locally tuck pointed, including at the stone window heads. c. Locally demolish areas of loose stone. Locally patch spalled stone. Rout and epoxy-inject cracked stone. 2. Perform all work to meet with CPS standards a. 04 01 00 Maintenance of Masonry b. 04 20 00 Unit Masonry c. 07 71 00 Roof Specialties 3. Perform all work during normal work hours. 4. Clean the surrounding area and make sure all is swept of debris and excess mortar. 5. All trash be removed offsite by vendor and area left broom swept.
