Alberta Transportation is seeking interested parties in submitting the Qualifications for a portion of the west leg of the Calgary Ring Road in Calgary, Alberta. The project will be procured through a Design-Build process. The infrastructure components to be undertaken by the Contractor will include the following: - Design and construction of approximately three kilometres of new six lane/eight lane divided freeway plus additional basic and auxiliary lanes as necessary, - Completion of the systems interchange at Stoney Trail and Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) - One grade separation - The reconstruction of approximately four kilometres of Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), including the interchange at Valley Ridge Boulevard. NOTE: The West Calgary Ring Road, is an 11-kilometre project divided into three segments: the south one that connects with the Southwest Calgary Ring Road, the north one that meets the Trans-Canada Highway and a new bridge across the Bow River. The north segment, running between Old Banff Coach Road and the Trans-Canada Highway, will be constructed by EllisDon. The West Bow River Bridge twinning project will be built by Flatiron and AECON. North segment tendered at $463 and West Bow River Bridge Segment tendered at million $89 million. The Request for Qualifications for the south segment of the West Calgary Ring Road, between Highway 8 and Old Banff Coach Road, will be issued in the coming days. A contractor is expected to be in place for the 2020 construction season. Project will be published once the RFQ has been issued.
