Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Conceptual plans call for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

This project calls for creation of a walkable and bike-able connection for neighborhoods and destinations along Route 1 through construction of ten ft. sidepaths on each side of road in available NH DOT right-of-way. This will be a phased project, the first phase of which will extend from the intersection of Elwyn Road/Peverly Hill Road to Heritage Ave to correspond with the NHDOT Route 1 Corridor Project. Most of the project falls within NHDOT jurisdiction, and requires coordination and permission from the state agency to implement and maintain. A separate but related project would add ADA-Compliant crosswalks and actuated pedestrian signals to cross Lafayette Rd at key intersections As March 10, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2024-2029 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
