Renovation of an educational facility in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A. The purpose of this document is to describe the scope of work and options for complete, turn-key design/build LED display and control systems. B. Work under this Contract includes all labor, materials, tools, transportation services, supervision, coordination, demolition etc., necessary to complete the installation of the LED Displays and Control Systems as described in these performance specifications. The systems shall be called the “Display System” and the installer the “Display Installer". Any final design and structural/electrical engineering for the project Is included in this scope of work. Construction information provided as part of this specification and/or related documents are provided for information purposes only. The drawings included with this specification convey general system concepts and may not show complete and accurate building details. The Installer is responsible for making field measurements necessary to establish exact locations, relationships, load capacities necessary for the installation of these systems. C. Work includes (3) separate LED displays, and content management systems. Drawings are conceptual in nature, illustrating the features and appearance of the system. It is intended that the Display Installer shall assume full responsibility for final structural and electrical engineering and installation requirements as well as construction information and coordination required in accordance with the Installer's final design of elements being provided under this contract. AC power, if not existing will be extended to the display locations as part of the base project as required. Identify and notify Owner if existing AC power that is existing at the display location or shown on electrical drawings is not sufficient for LED displays. Extension and distribution of AC power and signal raceway from the existing/base project provided point to the displays and within displays is the responsibility of the Display Installer. Any additional raceway/cable management, as required by code or required for a complete pathway system or to enclose cabling within public view, but not shown on the electrical or AV drawings is to be included in the Display Installer’s scope of work. D. This project is a direct replacement for the existing displays. The existing timing and scoring systems will be reused. If any of the existing timing and scoring elements cannot be reused as part of the proposed provide new. 1. The (3) LED display’s physical dimensions will remain the same as the existing within normal LED module differences 2. Existing video display control equipment location is to be reused. E. The systems include the following major items: 1. (3) LED video displays. a. Addition to existing power service and signal race way if required for the proposed solution are in the display installer’s scope. 2. LED display elements, internal and related structure and enclosures. a. All secondary steel, etc. required for attachment to existing structure b. The Installer must recognize that the scope of work requires coordination with the building event schedule, other trades and installers to provide suspension/mounting points for devices installed by others. 3. New content management, creation, scheduling and control system. Integration with existing Daktronics timing and scoring system including: a. Omnisport 2000 Console b. Pace Clocks c. Start horn d. Touchpads e. Relay take off platforms f. Remote start/stop with double reset 4. Power controls to allow each LED display element to be turned off independently of each other and done so from the control/rack room location. Programming for controls should allow for the following options to be accomplished with a single button push: a. Entire system on off b. Each display and illuminated lettering/signs, controlled individually 5. Extension or addition of conduit from electrical rooms to displays is the responsibility of this contractor. Exposed cabling will not be allowed. Coordinate AC power and infrastructure with Owner’s staff and project. 6. Project completion December 2018. F. The Contract also includes: 1. Demolition of the existing displays. Provide certification of proper disposal (per University environmental standards) of all material. The Owner has first right of refusal regarding any salvage rights, re-use or repurposing. 2. Pre-Installation meeting on site. 3. Verification of dimensions and conditions at the job site. 4. Coordination with other contractors and trades. 5. Preparation of submittal information. 6. Installation in accordance with the contract documents, manufacturer’s recommendations, and all applicable code requirements. 7. Initial tests and adjustments, written report, and documentation. 8. Post installation camera calibration of LED displays. 9. Adjustment and leveling of all LED modules and masks to insure a flat and uniformed face for all displays. 10. Instruction of operating personnel; provision of manuals. 11. Maintenance services; warranty. 12. Event attendance as outlined herein. 13. Floor and work area protection for the duration of the project. G. The Contract Documents are complementary and are intended to include or imply all items required for the proper execution and completion of the work. Any item of work required by the Specifications or other portion of the Contract Documents, but not shown on the drawings, or shown on the drawings but not required in the Specification, shall be provided by the Contractor without extra charge as if shown or mentioned in both. H. The owner reserves the right to make reasonable device and equipment location changes prior to rough installation without claim for additional expense
