Site work, paving and renovation of a civil project in Glen Cove, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The purpose and intent of this Notice is to solicit bids from qualified contractors to rehabilitate the East Island Bridge Tidal Gates, repair the bridge piers and abutments, and install hybrid structural/environmental and green infrastructure both at areas adjacent to the bridge wingwalls and along the north shoreline of Dosoris Pond, at Pryibil Beach. The repair of the tidal gates will help to control the inflow and outflow of water between the Long Island Sound and Dosoris Pond. Adjacent to the bridge structure and at Pryibil Beach, the contractor shall regrade sloped areas, remove invasive plantings and debris, install native plantings, new rain gardens, and rip rap in order to stabilize areas of erosion and promote long term shoreline stabilization, stormwater runoff mitigation, decreased heat-island effects, decreased turbidity of Dosoris Pond and overall water quality improvements. All parties/bids must meet M/WBE Goals in their bid: An overall goal of at least 20% for Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises ("MWBE") participation, (based on the current availability of qualified MBEs and WBEs).
