Renovation of an educational facility in Cochran, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a three-story above grade educational facility.
As of October 22, 2020, this project is nearing construction completion. *The original solicitation is listed below for reference. --- The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC), as "Owner," on behalf of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia ("BOR") and Middle Georgia State University ("MGSU"), is seeking Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing construction management at-risk services for a project known as Project J-328, Academic and Student Success Renovations at Middle Georgia State University (Cochran Campus) located in Cochran, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify the most qualified potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms which respond to this RFQ, and who are determined by the Owner to be especially qualified, may be deemed eligible and may be invited to offer proposals for these services. The RFQ is posted on the Georgia Procurement Registry (below). Interested firms should check the site often for additional information regarding this project. The Roberts Library will undergo selective renovation and repurposing. The building is a three story brick clad and concrete frame facility currently used to accommodate instructional and library functions on the top two floors. The ground floor accommodates space for Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant OTA), and other instructional spaces. This renovation scope will provide elevator and restrooms that are code compliant, new DDC controls, fire alarm upgrades, LED lighting, and new finishes. Space re-allocations will be made on the top two floors. The renovated facility will augment the value of the student success center by enhancing and expanding space for library study and lounge areas on the top two floors and a portion of the ground floor vacated by OTA and Nursing. Owner conducts Pre-Proposal Site Visit for finalists 09/27/2018 02:00 PM TBA c. Dillard Hall is a two story brick and concrete facility, the first and middle section of a larger science complex that houses classrooms and labs. This mid-century building was built in 1958 and is eligible for the National Registry of Historic Places. The Dillard Hall renovation will modernize building systems and finishes, correct exterior wall and envelope deficiencies, and bring all building infrastructure into code compliance. The First Floor of the proposed renovation accommodates OTA and Nursing program laboratories and offices which will be moved out of Roberts Librarys First Floor. Deadline for submission of written questions and requests for clarification 9/05/18 2:00 PM.Questions about any aspect of the RFQ, RFP, or the project, shall be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferable) to: Jim Hyde, Contracts Manager, e-mail: jim.hyde@gsfic.ga.gov . Owner completes qualification evaluation and determines finalist firms 9/20/18 TBD The Design Professionals services are anticipated to commence by Summer 2018 with construction documents anticipated for completion in Summer 2019. The selected CM/GC will immediately commence preconstruction services upon execution of a Construction Management Contract. The start of construction is contingent on the availability of the funding. Construction duration is expected to be XX months. (All of the dates above are estimates which are subject to change.) The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $9,100,000.
