Demolition, site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Lorton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 17,600-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; for the demolition of a 7,700-square-foot fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The Gunston Fire Station #20 project consists of demolition of the existing 7,700 square-foot, 2- bay, 1-story fire station and construction of a new 17,600 square-foot, 2-story, 4-bay facility, and associated site work including a 280 square-foot, detached, outdoor storage building. The first floor will feature the apparatus bays, administrative offices, common living areas, such as the kitchen, dayroom, and dining room, a visitor restroom, and support spaces for operations of the facility. The second floor will contain the living quarters for station personnel, support spaces, bunk rooms, lockers, showers, laundry, and restrooms. Geothermal will be utilized for heating and cooling and a photovoltaic solar array will be installed on the roof and on the ground. The County reserves the right to extend the Application submission deadline or modify the application criteria, by way of an addendum, should such action be deemed in the best interest of Fairfax County. A statement of applicant's ability to acquire a Virginia Class A Contractor's License, if currently unlicensed, prior to bidding; and a commitment to require that all affected subcontractors obtain applicable Virginia licenses.
