The Senior Buyer is the designated authorized spokesperson for the City of Suffolk with respect to this IFB. All questions should be directed to the Buyer's attention. SCOPE OF WORK The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow between Northbrook Avenue and Grove Avenue by realigning Colonial Avenue for a more efficient connection between the roadways. The project consists of roadway widening, demolition, clearing and grubbing, drainage improvements, paving improvements, and roadside development. This project is partially funded with State monies. Only VDOT prequalified contractors may bid on this project. All laws/regulations/procedures applicable to State purchasing will apply. Addendums, award information, etc. may be downloaded from website. In compliance with this invitation for bids, and subject to all the conditions thereof, the undersigned offers, if this bid is accepted within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of the opening, to furnish any or all of the items and/or services upon which prices are quoted, at the price set opposite each item, to be delivered at the time and place specified herein. The undersigned certifies he has read, understands, and agrees to all terms, conditions, and requirements of this bid, and is authorized to contract on behalf of firm named. If said work is not completed within one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days as stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall be liable and hereby agrees to pay to the Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount in accordance with VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications 108.06(b) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains incomplete. The CITY reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deduct liquidated damages from any outstanding amount due the Contractor.
