Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The scope of this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: Landscaping underneath and around the new viaduct. Five distinct areas have been identified - West Park, Arts Plaza, River Access Tunnel, LA River, and East Park. Amenities are likely to include active sports fields, performance stage areas, park trails and lighting, parking, adjoining street improvement, river terracing, bio-swales & storm-water BMP, and small park related structures. An engineer has been selected and as of May 3, 2022, this project is in design phase, and has received approval from the city, but a building permit has not yet been issued. Engineer firm information has not been disclosed. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated construction will start in 2022 and end in 2024. As of June 27, 2022, a general contractor has been selected for this project, and construction has commenced. The identity of the general contractor on this project has not yet been released.
