As of March 14, 2023, an architect has been awarded and demolition has begun. Information regarding general contractor selection has not been released. A firm timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Demolition work has begun to make way for the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art's new, 112,000-square-foot facility Downtown, which has a target completion date of 2025. Construction of a Museum of Art the will include expanded galleries, classrooms, a theater, dining, a museum store and a large subterranean parking garage.
