In general, the work consists of the addition to and remodeling of the existing Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center Facility. The total building area of the additions and remodeling is approximately 102,700 sf [78,100 sf new, and 24,600 sf existing], which includes single story and two-story areas, with a basement as indicated on the documents. The expansion includes Administration, Visitation and Intake spaces, additional Patient Sleeping Rooms and associated Day Rooms, Staff Support, and Interior and Exterior Program Areas. Housing is organized into individual wings of varying Security Levels. The project also includes extensive sitework around the entire facility and a new pedestrian tunnel, which connects to an existing campus tunnel system. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted. 4 The MEP Subcontractor scope of work is identical to the General Prime Contractor scope of work included in these bidding and contract documents.
