Site work for a water / sewer project in Red Deer, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City of Red Deer intends to construct a Residuals Management Facility (RMF) at its potable water treatment plant, located in Red Deer, Alberta. The purpose of the RMF is to remove solids that are contained in the water treatment process waste streams, to allow disposal of the removed solids in an environmentally responsible manner. The RMF treatment process will utilize gravity thickening to concentrate the solids, which will then be dewatered with decanter centrifuges. The RMF will be constructed in the place of the existing Water Treatment Plant 1. Demolition of Water Treatment Plant 1, including all of the internal and external elements, is included in the scope of work for the construction of the RMF. The scope will also include the removal and disposal of hazardous building materials and contaminated soils from the existing Water Treatment Plant 1 building and site.
