Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; warehouse / distribution facility; bridge / tunnel; water / sewer project; road / highway; and road / highway.

Secure approval from FAA and South Florida Water Management District to extend 59th Avenue south to Miami Lakes Drive to include construction of PW Yard and Boat Storage facility. The project includes the purchase of a 5.86-acre parcel from Miami-Dade Aviation Department to design and construct a bridge and roadway improvement, extending from NW 59th Avenue over the C-8 Canal south to NW 154th Street, thereby providing public access that will facilitate increased economic opportunities, commerce and local jobs. The project will also include a storage yard for Public Works materials and equipment, and a boat storage facility for the nautical public to be operated by the private sector through a revenue sharing agreement with the Town. As of June 14, 2023, design is underway. Funding has been budgeted for FY2022 to secure approval from the Florida Aviation Administration and South Florida Water Management District to be able to use the property for the above-mentioned intended uses. A general contractor has not been selected yet. A timeline for construction has not been announced. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
