In general, the rehabilitation of the Dennis Bridge includes: - Full depth removal and replacement of asphalt wearing surface; - Full depth concrete removal and replacement of bridge barriersand curbs; - Removal and replacement of existing pier expansion joints; -Jacking of steel beams and concrete girders and replacement of bearings; - Scarification of existing concrete deck; - Localized partial depth removal and replacement ofdeteriorated concrete on bridge deck, soffit, abutment walls, wingwalls, and piers; - Construction of a concrete deck overlay, concrete patchwork, waterproofing, and asphalt wearing surface; - Semi-integral conversion of bridge abutments; - Rehabilitation of precast concrete girders. - Reinforcing of steel beams with prefabricated plates via welding; - Sandblasting, cleaning, and coating of structural steel girders, bearings, diaphragms, stiffeners and associated steel elements; - Removal of existing guiderail and installation of new guide rail; - Associated roadwork and site restorations; - Installation of rip rap slope protection.
