Delivery: 730 Days After Notice to Proceed Project Location: Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve, Kennecott, Alaska. The location plan of the project site is shown on the Drawings. The Work consists of the following: 1. The Work includes structural repairs of the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark Mill Building, a fourteen story timber frame building and its associated ore chute. The work consists of wood foundation work; selective replacement of deteriorated heavy timber wood columns, beams and floor structures; repair of traditional wood framing and horizontal wood siding and; the partial demolition and full reconstruction of a timber feature on the exterior of the building called the high grade ore chute. 2. Given the operational history of the site and the results of various environmental studies within the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark, the Contractor must incorporate additional health and safety measures to protect workers from potential exposure to contaminants, including elevated concentrations of lead and arsenic in area dust and soils. Additionally, other structures within the National Historic Landmark may also contain asbestos, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and blasting caps (these are known to be present in the hill on the northside of the Mill Building). The National Park Service has initiated measures to fully characterize the nature and extent of contamination throughout the area. 3. In the case of any inconsistencies among sections of this Bid Specifications document related to the management of contaminants or hazardous waste The RFP submission package and modifies the SF 1442 to require an offer guarantee, provides POCs for questions, provides a timeline for questions to be received by 20 September 2019, note that an emailed proposal is acceptable, and provides additional information on where the site visit is being held with an updated map.
