Site work for a road / highway in Hamilton, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
For the rehabilitation of a confined natural valley system located between two storm sewer systems. The Work area is within an easement held in the City's favour on private lands. The removal Work involves: removal of existing trees, clearing and grubbing of the Work area, the removal of the previous erosion and grade control structures (gabion baskets), the removal of a storm sewer outlet headwall, and removal/grading/shaping of earth. The proposed Works includes: the construction of eight (8) armour stone rib/drop structures, placement of rip-rap and boulders along the channel bed, and the reconstruction of a storm outlet headwall. Restoration Works involve the installation of landscape plantings, and terra-seeding of disturbed areas. To facilitate the Works, the Contractor will be required to install a system to de-water the Work area, and a separate system to by-pass flows originating from the upstream storm sewer system around the active Work area.
