Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
As of September 23, 2022, this project has bid for a general contractor and construction is complete. Reconstruct bridge on County Highway WG over the Dutch Gap Canal between Highway 45 and 1-94. The current bridge was constructed in 1960 and has a 20-foot roadway width that is substandard for the current volume, size and speed of traffic. This bridge has deteriorated to a sufficiency rating of 48.9, which is less than the minimum of 50. There are cracks and spalling at several locations on the bridge deck and the bridge railings have experienced a significant level of corrosion. If not replaced, the current bridge can be used but will required additional maintenance and repair. This project is currently in the Kenosha County - Purchasing's 2022-2026 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
