Site work for a water / sewer project in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project is located in the City of Fort Worth and in unincorporated area in Denton County, Texas, east of Interstate Highway 35W and south of State Highway 114. The project scope generally includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: Construction of approximately 12,600 linear feet of primarily 54-inch to 60-inch sanitary sewer interceptor roughly parallel to an existing 30-inch sanitary sewer interceptor, including approximately 1,270 linear feet of 54-inch interceptor in 84-inch steel encasement pipe or tunnel liner plate by other than open cut. The sanitary sewer interceptor shall consist of either PVC pipe and fittings in crushed stone (granular) embedment or FRP pipe and fittings in Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) (flowable fill) embedment; Construction of an approximately 270-linear foot triple-barrel sanitary sewer siphon consisting of 20-inch to 42-inch High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and fittings with fusion joints in reinforced concrete encasement, and installation of creek crossing erosion protection measures; Installation of 37 Fiberglass or Polymer Concrete sanitary sewer interceptor manholes. Manholes shall be tee-base with 60-inch riser or closed-bottom with variable-diameter (60-inch minimum) base and riser, as specified in the Drawings; Modification of approximately 11,700 linear feet of existing primarily 30-inch sanitary sewer interceptor, including approximately 4,950 linear feet by abandonment or removal and approximately 6,750 linear feet by removal from service; Abandonment or removal of two (2) existing sanitary sewer interceptor junction boxes and 11 existing sanitary sewer interceptor manholes; Construction of approximately 1,140 linear feet of City of Fort Worth 8-inch to 18-inch sanitary sewer main for reconnections of existing mains to the new interceptor, including approximately 520 linear feet of 18-inch main by sliplining in existing 30-inch sanitary sewer pipe; Installation of five (5) City of Fort Worth 48-inch diameter Fiberglass closed-bottom manholes; and Abandonment or removal of approximately 500 linear feet of existing City of Fort Worth 8- inch to 18-inch sanitary sewer main. Only responses issued via Addenda are binding The authority welcomes bids from Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBS). Contractors and suppliers submitting bids shall encourage hubs To participate in the performance of the contract. Proposals shall be accompanied by either a Bid Bond or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than 5% of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the Trinity River Authority of Texas as a guarantee that the bidder will, within 10 days after notice of award, enter into a Contract and furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond upon the forms provided, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price, from a surety licensed to conduct business in Texas and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds" as published in Circular 570 (amended) by the Audit Staff Bureau of Accounts, U.S. Treasury Department. The surety for the Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall have an "A" minimum rating of performance and a financial rating strength of five times the Contract Price, all as stated in the current "Best's Key Rating Guide, Property-Casuality." Each Bond shall be accompanied by a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the Bond. Award of this project is contingent upon the release of funds from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). Any contract or contracts awarded under this Invitation to Bid are expected to be funded in part by a loan from the TWDB. Neither the State of Texas nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees are, or will be, a party to this Invitation to Bid or any resulting contract. All laborers and mechanics employed by the CONTRACTOR and Subcontractors on projects funded directly by or assisted in whole or in part by and through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund or Drinking Water State Revolving Fund shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on projects of a character similar in the locality as determined by the Secretary of Labor in accordance with subchapter IV of chapter 31 or title 40, United States Code. Wages to be paid on this Project will be governed by the Department of Labor Wage General Decision or Decisions included in the bid documents for this Project. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any immaterial formalities on inconsistencies in its sole judgement. Award shall be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; however, the Authority reserves the right, after evaluation of all bids received, to make no recommendation to its Board of Directors regarding the award of any bid in the event non-responsive, non-conforming, or otherwise unacceptable bids are received, or if budgetary constraints or other unanticipated factors exist. No bid may be withdrawn until the expiration of 60 days from the date bids are opened.
