As of August 20,2019 Project has been Awarded to Garcel & G Construction, LLC, Awarded amount is $5,954,822.30 ( Base and Alt #3) The Hughes Road Widening Project base bid consists of (a) widening of the existing three-lane roadway to a five-lane roadway section extending from just north of the intersection of Old Madison Pike to Millsford Drive, (b) replacement of the traffic signal located at Hughes Road and Eastview Drive, and (c) construction of an eight-foot-wide sidewalk located on the west side of Hughes Road. Existing pavement will be milled/ planed and resurfaced. Storm water infrastructure will be installed as part of this project. Additive alternates are as follows: (1) Improvement of the intersection of Old Madison Pike and Hughes Road, along with replacement of the traffic signal at the intersection, and widening of Old Madison Pike from Hughes Road to Sunset Blvd. to five lanes; (2) Installation of an eight-foot-wide sidewalk along the north side of Old Madison Pike from Hughes Road to Sunset Blvd.; (3) Installation of an eight-foot-wide sidewalk along the east side of Hughes Road from Old Madison Pike to Millsford Drive. The project includes all work necessary to complete the project including clearing and grubbing, stripping topsoil, unclassified excavation, storm drainage, gravel bedding, concrete sidewalk, and sodding. The project must conform to ADA requirements. No pre-qualification is required for this project.
