The Town of Bluffton is soliciting competitive sealed bids from experienced and qualified Offerors to provide all materials and labor to install temporary stabilization per engineered documents (Michael H. Hance, PE LLC) dated August 31, 2021. The Squire Pope Carriage House is located within Wright Family Park at 111 Calhoun Street Bluffton, South Carolina. This project requires special attention as the Squire Pope Carriage House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing historic structure in the Bluffton Historic District. The proposed stabilization of the Squire Pope Carriage House ensures that the building is temporarily supported from further structural collapse while funds are allocated for the full-scale interior and exterior restoration. All materials shall be new, pressure treated, latest production, and free of blemishes and defects. The Offeror shall provide all materials, labor and equipment required to complete the project in conformance with the specifications and normally accepted construction practices. In addition to structural repairs and specifications listed above. The awarded Offeror will also provide the following: Windows and Doors: Windows and door openings are required to be covered with pressure treaded plywood during stabilization. Prior to installation of pressure treated plywood. Contractor shall paint all plywood Benjamin Moore Charleston Green. Chimney: Modern chimney on north elevation is required to be dismantled. Once dismantled Contractor shall clean and palatize brick for future re-purpose.
