The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will be soliciting bids for its Rail Rehabilitation Project Phase 7 - Crossover and Interlockings (Project). Notice is hereby given that VTA is now soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from bidders (Bidders) with construction expertise in (i) rail rehabilitation; (ii) installation of new crossovers, associated overhead contact system, signaling systems, and traction power items; and (iii) signal interlocking improvements. This Request for Pre-Qualification of Bidders is intended to solicit information in the form of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and SOQ. All Bidders that intend to submit a bid for the Project must fully complete the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire, provide all materials requested herein, and be approved by VTA in order to be included on the final qualified Bidders list. No bid will be accepted from a Bidder that has failed to comply with these requirements. If two or more contractors submit a SOQ as part of a Joint Venture, or expect to submit a SOQ as part of a Joint Venture, each entity within the Joint Venture must be separately pre-qualified. The estimated cost of construction for the Project is in the range of $20 Million to $24 Million. It is anticipated that the Invitation for Bid for the Project will be advertised in February 2019, with bid opening in March 2019 (Solicitation Period). The estimated time for construction of the Project is 475 calendar days.
