Site work, new construction and renovation of a water / sewer project in Olathe, Kansas. Working plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City's lift stations require equipment replacement and rehabilitation on a periodic basis to operate effectively. Lift stations have mechanical equipment with a 20-25 year life expectancy. In addition to mechanical improvements, this project will fund the installation of emergency by-pass pumps. This project will provide funding for these improvements to extend the life of the equipment and to improve operations. The City currently has 22 sanitary sewer lift stations. This project includes rehabilitation and replacement of equipment for 14 of these lift stations to improve overall operations and efficiency. The scope of work for this project is based on the results of a Lift Station Study that was completed in 2013 and updated conditions assessments performed on a quarterly basis. Projects will include: 2021: Cedar Lake Lift Station (NOTE: see Cedar Creek Lift Station Replacement Project that is currently out to bid) 2022: Mission Ridge and Prairie Farms 2023: North Parker and Valley Road 2024: North Woodland and Providence Village 2025: Huntford and N 7 Highway The project is included in the city's 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 4, 2022, the design is 100% complete and the general contractor has been selected. Construction is slated to begin Spring of 2022. However, the firm date has not been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
