SDDOT - Item No - 09 - Cold Applied Plastic Pavement Marking Work on this project consists of Surface Preparation/Obliterating existing cold plastic and applying Cold Plastic Pavement Marking Tape on the following routes: 1. SD445 MRM 74.55 to MRM 76.60. Replace all existing cold plastic, except stop bars. Surface is PCCP. Boundaries are Asphalt/PCCP transition near MRM 76.70 to 100 south of Black Hill Energy approach (MRM 74.55). See layouts for 8 tape locations. 2. US14A - Asphalt/concrete transition near MRM 51.85 to MRM 53.03 (I90 WB Ramps intersection). Replace all Cold Plastic except 24" white tape. Surface is PCCP. Some edge line on west end is tape with paint on top of it-replace this with tape. Include arrows, ONLY's, and RRXs. For I90 EB off ramp, and I90 WB off ramp, replace all arrows (wrong way and regular arrows). 3. US16B - MRM 70.40 to MRM 72.77. All Cold Plastic white centerline skips. PCCP from I90 to SD 44. Contractor only allowed to work at night at this location, 8pm-6am. 4. US16A - MRM 22.5 to MRM 24.05. Replace all markings thru Custer with tape. Asphalt thru the City of Custer. Include all markings for 16/385 & 16A/89 intersection. See layout sheet for 16A/89. Include all crosswalks and stop bars along route Existing markings are paint. Groove depth is good. Include parking lane lines in downtown Custer. Do not replace white edge line on east end of project limits, it is to remain paint, see layout sheet. MRM 24.05 is box culvert over French Creek. 5. US16 - MRM 26.44 to MRM 26.94. Replace tape for all markings thru Custer. Asphalt thru the City of Custer. Exclude all markings for 16/385&16A/89 intersection. Include all crosswalks and stop bars along route Existing markings are paint. Groove depth is good. Include parking lane lines in downtown Custer. Include all markings for 16 & 385/89 intersection (3 stop bars, and all crosswalks). 6. SD34 - MRM 33.83 to MRM 34.23. All Cold Plastic from I90 WB Ramps intersection to 11th St. Asphalt/PCCP transition near 11th st is east end of segment. Replace all, arrows, skips, and neutral areas with crosshatching.
