The Work consists of, but not limited to, furnishing all tools, labor, materials, equipment, and miscellaneous items necessary for the complete construction of approximately 9,400 linear feet of 36-inch nominal diameter HDPE wastewater force main from Boggy Creek Lift Station to the Lockheed Shaft of the Govalle Wastewater Diversion Tunnel by open cut, including approximately 1,600 linear feet of Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) beneath the Colorado River and boring (road/utility crossings). The Work also includes installation of air release valves, isolation valves, construction of polymer concrete manhole with a Vortex Flow Insert (VFI), abandonment of existing wastewater lines, connection to existing manholes and existing force main, by-pass pumping, pavement restoration, site civil improvements, environmental protections, and all other appurtenances to provide a complete and operable system. All Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable Bid guaranty in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid, as specified in Section 00100, Instructions to Bidders. Performance and payment bonds when required shall be executed on forms furnished by OWNER. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount by a solvent corporate surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, and shall meet any other requirements established by law or by OWNER pursuant to applicable law. Liquidated damages are six hundred eighty ($680.00) per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within five hundred and forty-nine (549) Calendar Days, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300.
