Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Forest, Virginia. Completed plans call for the addition of a two-story above grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project consists of a two-story addition to a circa 1994 middle school building for grades 6 through 8, along with a bus loop, parking lot expansion and landscaping and courtyard expansions. Cast-in place concrete and steel framing are used for the structural system. Designed under the 2012 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Occupancy is E and Construction Classification is IIB. 1. The exterior cladding consists of CMU, brick, stone, fiber cement and metal panel siding, and glass. 2. A well field will provide heat exchange for water source heat pumps located throughout the building. All project lighting is LED. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Bid Security shall be in the form of (1) Cash; (2) Cashier's Check; (3) Certified Check on a Band or Trust Company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or (4) a Bid Bond executed by a Corporate Surety licensed under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia to execute such bonds. A company check will not be accepted as a form of Bid Security. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
