Demolition, site work and new construction of a medical facility in La Marque, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

Galveston County issues a request for a competitive sealed proposal in an effort to acquire a general contractor to perform construction services to renovate and add to an existing, unoccupied one-story building on a 2.3 acre site at the following location: Galveston County Medical Examiners Office 1205 Oak Street La Marque, TX 77568 This project is also listed as the FEMA SR1A Alternate Project for the Medical Examiners Facility Rebuild. FEMA requirements are included in the solicitation documents. The project includes the following: Sitework; Building addition construction; Existing building renovation PROPOSAL GUARANTEE: Evidencing its firm commitment to engage in the contract if Proposer is selected for award of contract, each Proposer is required to furnish with their proposal a Cashier's Check, or an acceptable Bidder's Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract price. The Bidder's Bond must be executed with a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas. Failure to furnish the bid/proposal guarantee in the proper form and amount, by the time set for opening of bids may be cause or rejection of the proposal. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: Successful proposer, before beginning work, shall execute a performance bond and a payment bond, each of which must be in the amount of the contract, The required payment and performance bonds must each be executed by a corporate surety in accordance with Section 1, Chapter 87, Acts of the 56th Legislature, Regular Session, 1959 (Article 7.19-1, Vernon's Texas Insurance Code). Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Office of Rural Community Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. The Galveston County Commissioners' Court reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid or bids which, in its opinion, is most advantageous to Galveston County with total respect the governing laws. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project
