Renovation of an educational facility in Kissimmee, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Question End Date 2/11/2019 12:00 PM Poinciana High School HVAC Central Chiller Plant Replacement Project (Project). The selected firm will provide Construction Management Services for the complete replacement of the HVAC Chiller Plant at Poinciana High School. The Project's Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to the following: Construction of a new central chiller plant (CEP) on the northwest corner of the property. The plant will consist of four new nominal 250-ton premium efficiency chillers and one nominal 170-ton existing chiller that will be relocated from the existing plant at Building 12 to the new location. The plant will be provided with a new primary / secondary pumping system comprised of six primary pumps and two secondary pumps, each system with one fully redundant pump. All pumps are to be provided with new variable frequency drives. All of the required air control and hydronic specialties will be provided for the new plant as well as a new control system to be tied into the existing. The plant area will require the construction of a new concrete pad and the installation of a chain link enclosure. A new 2000-amp main distribution panel and new electrical service is being provided by Duke Energy. External harmonic mitigation has been included in the Scope of Work to address power factor issues with Duke Energy, which are related to the new non-linear loads on the new service. New chilled water distribution loops are to be provided throughout the existing campus to connect the new CEP to the existing buildings. Each point of connection from the existing chiller plants to the buildings are to be demolished. Isolation valves are being included at each point of connection to allow for phasing and flexibility of bringing the existing buildings on-line with the new plant. Building 3 is to be provided with a new independent service from the new chilled water loop in lieu of it being sub-fed from the existing piping from Building 4. In addition to connecting the existing chilled water systems, a new chilled water service is being routed to Building 8, which is to be converted from direct expansion equipment to chilled water as part of this Project. The parking and surrounding area around the new CEP is being adjusted to accommodate and maintain traffic flow and parking. The air handling unit and condensing unit serving the Building 8 are to be removed and replaced with a new chilled water air handling unit. The air handling unit is to be provided with new controls tied into the existing campus BAS. The air handling unit is to be controlled as a single zone VAV system utilizing the ECM motor on the AHU fans for speed control. Upon completion of the new CEP and connection of each building into the new chilled water loop, each existing chiller plant is to be demolished in their entirety. All equipment, piping, concrete pads, chain link enclosures are to be removed. Remove all electrical gear, wire and conduit back to the source and label the distribution panels as spare. Acoustiblok or equal sound deadening material is to be applied to the CEP's chain link fence enclosure.
