New Q&A End Date extended until March 5, 2019 @ 5:00 p.m. The Work includes: Site Demolition and Site Preparation on the north side of the Headworks Pretreatment Building, including abandonment in-place of a 24" plug valve and installation of a new 24" plug valve, as shown on the Civil Drawings. 1. Structural and Mechanical Demolition of selected portions of Aerated Grit Chamber #1 structures and equipment and associated piping and odor control scrubber piping, as shown on the Structural and Mechanical Drawings. Demolition includes removal of Grit Blower #1 and Grit Pump #1 and Grit Separator Unit #1 equipment and some portions of the concrete tank and concrete channel for Aerated Grit Chamber #1 facility, as shown on the Structural and Mechanical Drawings. 2. Furnishing and installation of a new concrete Grit Removal Tank structure and associated concrete channel extension improvements that will support the new grit removal unit equipment, as shown on the Structural Drawings. This includes new cantilevered concrete walkway, aluminum handrail improvements, as well as associated aluminum cover improvements, as shown on the Structural Drawings. 3. 4. Furnishing and installation of new 12' diameter grit removal unit equipment, two new grit pumps, a new grit separator/conveyor unit, associated channel stop gates, and associated piping and appurtenances, as shown on the Mechanical Drawings. The work includes Contractor installation of all of the new grit removal equipment, stop gates, slide gates, piping, and associated appurtenances, as shown in the Mechanical drawings. Removal and reinstallation of portions of the aluminum cover for Aerated Grit Chamber #1, which will effectively abandon Grit Chamber #1 facility at the Headworks. 5. 6. Electrical Demolition. Furnishing and installation of Electrical and Instrumentation and Controls improvements. 7. 8. Furnishing of all labor, material, superintendence, plant, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, services and other means of construction necessary or proper for performing and completing the Work. 9. Sole responsibility for adequacy of plant and equipment. 10. Maintaining the Work area and site in a clean and acceptable manner. 11. Maintaining existing facilities in service at all times. 12. Protection of finished and unfinished Work. 13. Repair and restoration of Work or existing facilities damaged during construction. 14. Furnishing as necessary proper equipment and machinery, of a sufficient capacity, to facilitate the Work and to handle all emergencies normally encountered in Work of this character.
