The Washington County Public Works Department is issuing this request for proposal (RFP) to provide project coordination and final design engineering for the Lake Elmo Park Reserve and Central Greenway Pavement Improvement Project. Lake Elmo Park Reserve is a natural resource-based park reserve that is 2,165 acres in size, with 80 percent of its acreage set aside for preservation and protection. As a Reserve the focus of the park is to provide the public with nature-oriented, recreation opportunities such as viewing and studying wildlife and wildlife habitat, learning about conservation, swimming, fishing, picnicking, hiking, orienteering, boating, camping and trail uses. The park was officially opened for public use and enjoyment in 1986 and continues to be one of the Countys most popular parks. This project will include: Complete reconstruction of 1.8 miles of existing trails to meet current standards and to be included as part of the Central Greenway Regional Trail o A 0.3 mile section of this reconstructed trail will follow a new alignment on the east side of the Contact Station Expansion of the employee parking lot at the Contact Station Addition of a parking lane and sidewalk along the main entrance roadway, near the Contract Station Addition of a new parking lot at the Boat Launch The Consultant will provide a project cost estimate at milestones throughout the project development including at 60% plan completion, 90% plan completion, and a final Engineer Estimate at 100% plan completion.
